Scope of the project

The main goal of the "Bilateral cooperation for a long-term collaboration" project is to strengthen academic and professional cooperation relations between Østfold University College in Norway and "Vasile Alecsandri" University of Bacău, Romania. This partnership aims to support the transition to a green economy by promoting renewable energy, energy storage and circular economy principles, aiming to form a solid foundation for future sustainable collaboration initiatives between the two institutions.

Project objectives

Strengthening academic and research capacities - Developing professional skills and expanding the knowledge of Romanian academic staff through study visits to Norway, access to innovative methods of teaching and practical learning, as well as collaboration with specialists from Norway in essential areas of the circular economy.

Developing green knowledge and skills for students - Organizing an innovative winter school focusing on renewable energy and energy storage for Romanian students, promoting the understanding and application of green transition principles at educational level.

Promoting and integrating the circular economy in Romania - Facilitating a workshop dedicated to the circular economy, aimed at sharing Norwegian expertise and encouraging collaboration between universities and the economic sector in Moldova, for an effective integration of these principles in the local business plan.

Creating a framework for future collaborations and developing a master's program - Sustaining a long-term partnership between Østfold University College and "Vasile Alecsandri" University of Bacău by identifying funding lines and creating an education plan for a master's program focused on the circular economy.

Results

Improving the skills and research capacity of teaching staff "Vasile Alecsandri" University of Bacău - The exchange of experience and access to advanced techniques and knowledge in Norway will allow Romanian teaching staff to adopt and implement new teaching methods and innovative practices in the field the circular economy.

Enhancing green skills for students - Through the winter school, students will gain applied knowledge about renewable energy and the circular economy, preparing them for key roles in the green transition.

Promoting the circular economy in the region of Moldova - The dedicated workshop will increase awareness and understanding of the principles of the circular economy among local economic operators, thus stimulating the implementation of these principles in business.

Development of a master's program in the circular economy at the "Vasile Alecsandri" University of Bacău - The creation of a master's curriculum will provide students with specialized training, making the "Vasile Alecsandri" University of Bacău a center of excellence in education and research in the circular economy, thereby contributing to the creation of a future-ready workforce.
